Camp Adventure

Posted in Uncategorized | 6 Comments »

Hello! I hope you enjoy reading about my adventure at
school camp and what I learnt from the experiences.

“Left…right…left…right…” walking on the cable about six metres above the ground. I know I’m hooked on a cable just above me but I’m still terrified. I hear my partner encouraging me from the ground below-“Grab the rope!” she yells. I made it!

“Yaaaaaaah!!!”  Soaring down the flying fox. Bump. I’m sent back by the dusty old tyre at the end of the loooong cable. I hold my rope out so someone can catch me and I don’t fly all the way back. I get caught and unhooked so I run along the soft muddy ground to take the latch back up.

“Drip, drip, drip”  It’s starting to shower and we feel clouds bucket water down on us. All the harnesses are swiftly taken off and thrown into a milk crate. A friend and I grab it and pelt up the concrete steps back up.

We tried so many new things in that experience like being brave enough to cross the cable or trusting someone enough to catch your rope on the flying fox. Camp was GREAT!!!

Serengeti Brochure

Posted in Uncategorized | 5 Comments »

This term 3BAZ  been writing travel brochures for the Serengeti National Park. When we’ve finished, we had to write it in to Comic Life so it can be well  presented. This is what I wrote:

Serengeti National Park

Do you need a holiday that has stunning animals?
How about an African safari with stunning wildlife unique to the land?
If you’re interested, read on.

Imagine a relaxing safari drive until…
You come across a proud pride of lions!
Watch in awe at the magnificent king- the dominant male lion.
You see adorable cubs playing-practicing skills that are crucial for survival later on.

Now think of an encounter with a glorious giraffe in the open plains of Serengeti,
towering above you, comparing you to an ant.
You watch it munching slowly at the freshes leaves on the towering trees.

To see these spectacular things, and more,
come to the superb serengeti for the experience of a lifetime!

What do you think? Can you give me any tips to improve?

Wild African Safari

Wild Earth-African Safari

To experience the wonders of real Africa, the Allstars have been playing “Wild Earth- African Safari” on the Wii console. We have been playing in the cooperative mode, where we had to take photos of different animals doing different things to complete the missions.

We split up into groups so that everyone had a chance to do something while other students are playing. These are the groups-

Zoologists- They had to take notes about what the animals’ behaviour was.

Ecologists- These people had to note down about what the landscapes looked like.

and of course…

The Players!- They played the Wii and experienced the safari in the front seat!

Here are the photos proving all the exciting things we did:
